I became my own first client as a self-employed and self-supporting, struggling single parent. Ten years ago, through the solutions and ideas I found in the world of professional coaching and the personal transformation field, and reading about successful people, I started to apply these ground-breaking ideas to my parenting. The results were almost instantaneous. I had stumbled into something that was easy, practical, simple and best of all - worked!

This program works because it NOT therapy; it is not pathology or diagnostic psychology, or a pill, or an intervention program, or doctors prescriptions, or thousands of dollars and crazy-making behavior management schemes. All of those programs have a place for us in society, but the time is now to reveal the real secret to creating an awesome family and an awesome teen. It is time for a radical new approach to 21st Century problems and issues. People tell me I am 20 years ahead of my time. I am a devoted Family Coach because I know that there are average kids, teens, parents and families all over the world with everyday challenges and struggles - and there are very few resources for us. Our kids are the ones who fall through the cracks. We are the ones who are tired, frustrated, overwhelmed and we do not have support. Families, moms, dads, grandparents......all of us need ideas, relief and help.

I am here to coach you, because I have tasted the fruit of my son going from a fear-based, anguished, struggling 14 year old, making every mistake you can image - to now 11 years later; a fine young man, a new husband with a fantastic relationship, graduated from college with a purpose in life, a budding career and the ability to manage his money. Honest!

I have devoted my life to learning how to solve problems with teens. As a student of learning, I am in a master’s program in Education, I have become a Certified Professional Coach and a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner, and have taken over 2000 hours of personal development training related to families. I sought out and learned from the best. I decided to stop blaming, whining and moaning about life's struggles and learn, learn... and learn more.

I have profound gratitude for my teachers, students, clients, staff, guides, family, other coaches, support team and friends who have shaped my growth through several careers and relationships. Many authors who have shared their learning with us have influenced my decisions and benchmarked my milestones; financially, physically, spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. You too can build a life of profound contribution and internal peace, and create your own definition of family, love, and success. There is much work do - and it starts with us. Let's get to it.

Diana Sterling (formerly Diana Haskins) is a 30-year veteran business owner and innovator. Her commitment to being self-employed and to helping others find meaning and success has resulted in the creation of New Generations International, Inc., a personal and professional development company serving families, teens and individuals worldwide since 1997.

As CEO, Diana oversees three divisions of New Generations International. Her fantastically effective business educational program for any family member, teen, parent or couple, Vision in Action, is a testimony for her relentless enthusiasm for self-employment. The second division, Parent as Coach®, is a series of programs designed to support parents going through the struggling teen years of parenting. Diana and her son Jordan, now 25, found that the skills and systems of coaching allowed them both to migrate successfully through his often difficult teen years and her even more difficult “parent of teen” years. Academy for Family Coach Training is the third division and compliments the other two by offering the world acclaimed Advanced Coaching Course, which trains professionals in the art of professional coaching in the specialty of teens and parents.

In addition to her leadership role, Diana is a sought out public speaker, an executive coach, lecturer, trainer and facilitator in the areas of Small Business Development, Parenting, Life Skills for Teens, and Professional Coaching. She has a wealth of knowledge and communicative skills acquired through her background in coaching, teaching, drama, music and film production. Diana holds a Bachelors Degree in Drama and is working towards a Masters Degree in Education, majoring in Adult Learning and Development at Portland State University. She has completed a Professional Certificate in Coaching at New Ventures West and holds the distinction of being a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner, certified by Life Design International.

Diana is the author of The Parent as Coach® Approach : The Seven Ways to Coach Your Teen in the Game of Life (White Oak Publishing 2008), which is the new and revised version of the 2001 Parent as Coach®. The original book has international distribution in North America, Latin America, Korea, Europe and Australia, and has been translated into Spanish and Korean. She is a member of the International Coach Federation and International Speakers Network and she holds the Advanced Speaker Certification and has completed the Graduate Speakers Institute. Diana is known for her innovative and creative style of speaking, coaching and training, having achieved excellent results with a diverse base of audiences and individual clients, including corporate executives, small business owners, service professionals, professional coaches, parents and teenagers.

Prior to founding New Generations International, Diana served as Executive Producer of The Production Team, Inc., which she founded in 1993. She is an award-winning film and video producer with over fifteen years as a freelance producer. She produced and directed a thirty-minute documentary, “Guerilla Theatre” for Outside In, a non-profit agency working with homeless youth. This project earned her a First Place Telly Award, and took her into deep into the world of homeless youth, which is still a moving reminder to help others, especially young people.

Diana is a Body for Life 2002 Winner in Bill Phillip's Body for Life worldwide competition, completing a 12-week body overhaul challenge on her 45th birthday. Her story of this success is featured in Body for Life for Women by Pam Peeke. Diana is also a contributor in the well-known WAKE UP: Live the Life You Love Series - in the just released THE POWER OF TEAM along with Dr. Wayne Dyer and Tony Robbins.

Known for her unique blend of practical tools, education and entertainment in both presentation and curriculum design, Diana's enthusiasm for helping people is infectious. Diana is married to a caring, insightful man of God, Bill Sterling, who adds to her growth on a daily basis. And the true inspiration for her dedication comes from her positive relationship with her grown son, Jordan, who says on a regular basis, “Go for it, Mom!”.
